Injections - Neurotoxins

Neurotoxins like Botox and Dysport are used to combat the signs of aging. Cosmetically, they smooth wrinkles and lines on the face, such as frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead wrinkles. Neurotoxins can have medical applications such as the treatment of spasms, such as those caused by headaches, cervical dystonia (i.e. a condition that causes involuntary neck movements) and chronic pain

Neurotoxins are generally considered safe when used by a qualified healthcare professional. However, they can also cause some side effects, including:

• Pain, redness or swelling at the injection site
• Temporary muscle weakness or paralysis
• Headache
• Drooping eyelids
• Nauseau

Neurotoxins work by blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected. When those nerve signals are interrupted, the affected muscle is temporarily paralyzed or frozen. Without movement of these selected muscles in the face, certain wrinkles may be softened, reduced, or even removed. 

Neurotoxins offer numerous benefits. It effectively reduces fine lines and wrinkles, particularly those around the eyes (crow's feet) and between the eyebrows (frown lines). The procedure is quick, usually taking about 10-15 minutes, and requires no downtime. Results can be seen within a few days and typically last between three to six months. 

Neurotoxins are versatile and can be used to treat various areas of the face. It's most commonly used to smooth crow's feet around the eyes, frown lines between the eyebrows, and horizontal lines on the forehead. It can also be used to treat bunny lines on the nose, smoker's lines around the lips, and bands on the neck. Neurotoxins can even be used to treat excessive sweating by blocking the nerves that stimulate sweat glands.

Our practice performs not only all treatments to the face, but also Scrutum Tox (i.e. making a man's testes look bigger and pulling the scrotum to look fuller, and younger by smoothing over lines in the appendage.  An additional benefit of this procedure is that your testes will not retract inside your body whilst erect. Microtox is a non-invasive injectable treatment that uses a diluted dose of Botox or Dysport to tighten skin, reduce pore size, and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It's also known as "Baby Botox" or dermatox. Here are some ways Microtox can be used:

• Skin tightening: Microtox can tighten the skin on the face, neck, and around the eyes. 
• Pore size: Microtox can reduce the size of enlarged pores. 
• Fine lines and wrinkles: Microtox can soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, including crow's feet. 
• Acne: Microtox can treat mild acne and excess oiliness. 
• Facial sweating: Microtox can reduce facial sweating and flushing. 
• Jawline: Microtox can slim the jawline and reduce jowling. 
• Under-eye area: Microtox can improve the appearance of the under-eye area. 

Microtox differs from traditional Botox in that it's injected just beneath the skin's surface, rather than into the muscle. This results in a more natural look and less obvious results, and doesn't reduce facial muscle movement. The effects of Microtox typically last 4 to 6 months.
